The Frogs will be traveling to Orlando, Florida to open their conference schedule where they will face the UCF Knights on Sept. 26.

TCU is coming off a solid win over Arkansas State where the Frogs defeated the Red Wolves 31-7 on Sept. 19. Despite a slower start to the game and only being up 14-7 at half, TCU went on to score 17 second half points and shutout Arkansas State.

Quarterback Jaden Craig had his second consecutive game where he eclipsed 300 passing yards and he also threw for three touchdowns. Craig currently leads the Big 12 in passing yards with 903 total passing yards.

Wide receiver Ed Small continues to take the next step, as the sophomore had a career-high of 164 receiving yards on seven receptions and one touchdown. Small is currently ninth in the nation in receiving yards with 330.

The Frogs had defensive back Jamel Johnson back in the lineup last weekend after he missed the prior game due to a foot injury. Johnson led the team in tackles with seven against the Red Wolves.

The Frogs defense has been the brightest spot of the team through the first three games, as they have allowed just 9.67 points per game, which is the ninth lowest in the country. The Frogs have given up just 29 points so far this year, their lowest total since 2014.

TCU is expected to have wide receiver Jordan Dwyer back against UCF, he has been listed as questionable in the initial injury report. Head coach Sonny Dykes confirmed that Dwyer would be back on Tuesday and Dwyer was a full participant in Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s practice.

Defensive end Zach Chapman is also still listed as questionable and he practiced on Tuesday as well.

UCF is coming off a win over Georgia State, where the Knights won 44-30. UCF has the same record as TCU, sitting at 2-1 with their loss coming to Pitt.

UCF has been without their star quarterback Alonza Barnett III who didn’t play against Georgia State and will be out against the Frogs. Barnett transferred from James Madison University where he led the Dukes to the College Football Playoff last year.

An early storyline from Saturday’s game is that UCF is offering unlimited hot dogs until halftime for fans. The stadium has been dubbed “The Bounce house” and is expected to be packed on Saturday.

The Frogs have only played UCF once in school history and will be making their first trip to Orlando. TCU fell to UCF in 2024, losing 34-35, where TCU missed the game winning field goal.

Vegas currently has the Frogs favored on the road, sitting as a three point favorite while ESPN is giving UCF a 51 percent chance to win.

TCU will take on UCF at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26. The game will be streamed on Fox Sports 1.
