Looking for a different kind of Halloween night out? On Thursday, October 15, from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m., the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science opens after dark for nightLAB: Weird Science, a 21+ evening of experiments, exhibitions, costumes, cocktails and unexpected discoveries.

Explore the new special exhibition, The Science Behind Pixar, and discover the science, technology, engineering and math behind beloved animated films. Then head to the Frost Planetarium for two very different journeys under its 67-foot dome. Miami-based electronic musician Danny Daze returns with ::BLUE::, an immersive performance of original music, sound design and visuals inspired by life on our “Blue Planet,” presented as part of III Points Festival satellite programming. The planetarium show Dark Universe offers a trip into the cosmos.

After encountering all that weirdness, bring some of your own to the Weird Science Costume Contest. Show up solo, dress as a duo or team up with a group of three to six for a chance to win Frost Science memberships.
Throughout the night, try hands-on activities with partners including IKEA, Miami Dade College’s MAGIC, Superblue Miami, the University of Miami’s National Aplysia Resource, Surfrider Miami, MORAES South Florida and Fairchild Botanical Garden.
Gather your friends, plan your costume and get your tickets for a night when science gets wonderfully weird.
