In short, some are open and some are closed. Here’s a county-by-county list.

TAMPA, Fla. — With Veterans Day being celebrated on Tuesday, many students and parents may be wondering if schools are open. 

While it is a federal and state holiday, school districts can decide if they want to close or not. Most schools in Florida will be closed, but not all. 

Here’s what schools in the Tampa Bay area are doing:

Citrus County: ClosedHernando County: ClosedHighlands County: OpenHillsborough County: ClosedManatee County: ClosedPasco County: OpenPinellas County: Open Polk County: ClosedSarasota County: Open

Although students in some of the counties, Hillsborough teachers still have school, according to the school calendar.

Students and teachers in Citrus County had Monday off as well for fall break. Pasco County students also had off Monday, but teachers had a professional day.
