Catholic leaders are making a final push, urging Gov. Ron DeSantis to stay the execution.
“In Florida, we can combine both justice and mercy by not resorting to executions,” a Catholic leader said.
The state has conducted 43 executions under DeSantis. Two more executions are currently scheduled for October.
