JACKSONVILLE, N.C. — A Jacksonville woman is in jail without bond following a domestic dispute on Saturday.

The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office arrested 21-year-old Rocio Vargas on September 26.

Online court records show Vargas is charged with misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor child abuse.

Charging documents allege Vargas attacked a man with an 8-inch butcher knife, cutting his right forearm near the wrist. The documents also allege she hit him in the face with her hand.

Deputies also accuse Vargas of putting a child at risk because the child was in the room during the reported assault.

Vargas remains in the Onslow County Jail without bond.
