FORT MYERS, Fla. — Florida SouthWestern State College just hit a major milestone.
FSW has surpassed 17,000 students for the first time since 2011, marking the college’s third-highest enrollment in its history, according to a press release.
“Surpassing 17,000 students is a significant milestone for FSW, but more importantly, it reflects the confidence students and families have in the education we provide,” said Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Judith Bilsky.
Bilsky added that the growth shows more students are recognizing the value of an FSW education and choosing the college to help them reach their goals.
The college offers 29 associate degrees and six bachelor’s degree programs in fields including nursing, technology, education and public safety, along with workforce certifications, continuing education and study abroad opportunities.
FSW alumni generate an estimated $430.1 million in annual economic impact through their work in the region, while the college’s overall annual impact on Southwest Florida reaches $563.1 million and supports 6,759 regional jobs.
