There’s some positive news on the Perez Hilton front.
Almost two months after a highly disturbing livestream in which the 48-year-old blogger appeared to be engaging in acts of self-harm at his Miami-area home, he has reunited with his kids. That’s according to a statement on Hilton’s eponymous website, which has been providing regular updates since his Aug. 4 hospitalization.
After recovering from physical injuries sustained in the TikTok Live, Hilton was transferred to an inpatient psychiatric facility, his brother-in-law reported on Hilton’s podcast in late August.
That facility is apparently where Hilton’s three kids – Mario III, 13; Mia, 11; and Mayte, 8 – were able to have “short, supervised visits” with their father.
“Seeing his children in person has meant an enormous amount to Perez,” the update said. “There have definitely been a lot of emotions for everyone, but being able to spend that time together has been incredibly meaningful and healing.”
We don’t know yet when the Belen Jesuit graduate will be able to return home.
“He’s continuing to work with his care team on understanding what led to his mental health crisis, recognizing warning signs, learning better ways to cope, and working through everything that brought him to this point,” the statement concludes.
The site also continues to ask for donations for GoFundMe to help Hilton’s mother, who has temporary custody. As of Wednesday morning, the fundraiser, which caused some controversy due Hilton still owning a $4 million home in Las Vegas, had reached almost $15,000 of its $25,000 goal.
