A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a bus while walking on Interstate 195 in Miami Beach Thursday evening, authorities said.
The incident happened around 7:20 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-195 near Alton Road.
Florida Highway Patrol officials said the pedestrian entered the roadway and was struck by an oncoming bus. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
FHP temporarily closed the eastbound lanes of I-195 while conducting a preliminary investigation. Traffic was then diverted to I-95.
No additional details about the pedestrian or the circumstances leading up to the crash were immediately released.
The investigation remains ongoing.
