Teacher arrested after allegedly dragging student out of class by arm in Seminole County

Dacia JohnsonSEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. —

A middle school teacher in Seminole County is facing a third-degree felony charge after deputies say she dragged a student out of class by his arm.

Fada Concepcion is a seventh-grade science teacher at Tuskawilla Middle School. She was arrested Thursday after the student’s father requested to press charges, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office said.

An arrest report says on Sept. 29, Concepcion grabbed the student from his seat and dragged him by his arm for a distance of at least 20 feet into an exterior hallway.

A student told the assistant principal, who informed the principal, state child protection officials, and a school resource deputy.

School officials contacted deputies after reviewing video footage of the incident.

Concepcion told deputies she had no recollection of dragging the student into the hallway, but said she escorted him out while he “repeatedly slumped over.”
