A woman is facing animal cruelty charges in Hialeah after videos showed her allegedly abusing a dog, police said.

Miriam Yilian De La Rosa, 42, was booked into jail early Friday on three counts of animal cruelty, records showed.

Hialeah Police said they began an investigation after they were notified of an incident involving a dog at an apartment complex in the 900 block of E. 26th Street.

Surveillance footage released by police showed De La Rosa outside the building with three small dogs including two in a stroller and one on a leash.

At one point, as De La Rosa is opening a door, the dog on the leash is able to get free and run down the sidewalk, as she chases after it and it able to grab it.

She appears to grab the dog and at one point hold it by its legs in the video.

A second video shows De La Rosa in the building’s elevator with the three dogs when she appears to slap one of the dogs in the head multiple times.
