A 30-year-old Kissimmee man died after an Orange County crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV that fled the scene early Saturday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol

The crash happened on Shader Road near Aquablue Way west of John Young Parkway at 2:08 a.m., according to an FHP report. The motorcycle, a 2019 Suzuki, was traveling eastbound behind a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe when the Tahoe had slowed down and the motorcycle struck the back of the Tahoe.

The impact caused the motorcycle rider to fall from the bike. He was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.

The driver of the Tahoe fled the scene after the crash.

A witness provided investigators with the Tahoe’s tag. Traffic homicide investigators later located the Tahoe parked and unoccupied in a business parking lot. Investigators took the vehicle as evidence.

The crash remains under investigation.
