TAMPA, Fla. — The average price of gasoline in Florida has dived 29 cents per gallon in the past week as oil prices have dropped from recent highs, according to AAA.
The state average of $4.08 per gallon as of Sunday was the lowest in nearly a month, down from $4.37 a week ago, AAA reported. The decline is saving drivers about $5-$7 per fill-up compared to prices seen just more than a week ago.
Nationwide, the average price of gas fell to $4.37, down from $4.48, AAA reported.
The plunge follows a large jump in oil prices last month. AAA attributed the drop to a decision by the G7 countries to release 100 million barrels from emergency reserves and an increase in exports from the Middle East.
