A woman in Florida is facing serious charges for allegedly hitting her boyfriend in the head with a laptop and trying to destroy video evidence of the incident.

According to court documents viewed by Globe, Christianne Stephens was arrested on Saturday, October 4, in Clearwater, Florida, and charged with aggravated battery causing physical disfigurement, false imprisonment and tampering with a witness/witholding information.

Fox13 reports that Stephens, 57, got into an argument with her live-in boyfriend about alleged cheating — it’s unclear on whose part. The outlet reports that things escalated and turned physical. The alleged victim said Stephens knew he was recording the altercation as he was trying to leave the home.

She reportedly stood in his way and said he could not leave until he deleted the video. At some point, she is accused of grabbing a laptop and hitting the male victim in the head, causing him to lose consciousness and leaving him with a large wound in the spot of impact. She would later admit to police that she hit him with the laptop but said she was merely pushing it toward him to get him to leave the home.

The boyfriend claimed that when he regained consciousness, he discovered Stephens trying to delete the video recording evidence of the altercation that he was recording when she allegedly smacked him with the laptop.

Stephens has since been released from jail after posting a $20,000 bond, per court records.
