TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Artificial intelligence is moving quickly from a buzzword to a business tool, and Tallahassee entrepreneurs got a closer look at what it could mean for their bottom lines during an event downtown.
AI experts met with local business owners this evening at the library in downtown Tallahassee to demonstrate how the technology can be used in day-to-day operations and to help businesses grow.
Alexis Roberts-McMillan, the owner and operator of Economy Drug Store in Tallahassee, said she is still getting up to speed on the technology. “AI as I see it is something that is still new to me. I have to learn how to do different thing,” Roberts-McMillan said.
Organizers said the goal was to help business owners leave with practical ways to start using AI tools. “What we hope for people to walk away with are opportunities that will help them develop these tools to be used in their business,” said Keith Bowers, director of the Tallahassee Leon County Office of Economic Vitality.
Attendees also said they were looking for ways to incorporate AI into their workflow. “I think this was an amazing opportunity to learn more about how businesses can utilize AI to maker it better,” said Kiosha Forston of Noahs Ark Housing.
Experts at the event said AI is expanding at one of the fastest rates in the history of modern technology.
