JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – A veteran is taking on a leadership role at the Carolina Museum of the Marine.
Colonel Kipp Wahlgren is the new Chief Executive Officer and President of the museum that opened in June. The museum tells the history of the United States military and the Marine Corps.
Wahlgren graduated from the US Naval Academy and served in the military for three decades. He is not new to leadership, having taken on leadership roles with the 2d Marine Aircraft Wing.
Major General Joe Shrader previously served in the role, where he oversaw the final stages of development and the museum’s opening.
Visitors are welcome Tuesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
