A crash has closed the southbound lanes of the Florida Turnpike near mile marker 140 in St. Lucie County Wednesday morning.
It happened just south of the Port St. Lucie Boulevard exit.
Florida Highway Patrol told WPBF 25 the traffic crash involves a single semi and trailer which has jackknifed.
However, traffic is getting by on a paved shoulder to pass through the scene and tow vehicles are en route.
This comes as FDOT reported an overturned tractor-trailer on the southbound lanes of Interstate-95 in Martin County before 7 a.m.
As of 8:13 a.m., the crash is still causing an 8-mile backup on the highway, passing the High Meadows Avenue exit.
There is no closure listed for the Turnpike south on-ramp at Becker Road.
