CAPE CORAL, Fla. —
A man was arrested after being accused of trying to break into cars and apartments at a Cape Coral apartment complex.
According to the Cape Coral Police Department, a caller reported that a man was walking around the Vantage Apartments, trying to find both unlocked car door handles and apartment door handles.
Officers located the man, later identified as Donald Landrum, 29, crossing Pine Island Road. A witness was able to identify Landrum as the person trying to break into her apartment door, CCPD says.
Landrum was initially stopped by officers, but tried to walk away, according to them. CCPD says that Landrum ignored commands and began to resist efforts to take him into custody.
Landrum was eventually arrested and faces charges of drug possession, loitering and prowling, and resisting arrest.
