And those dachshunds! The wiener dog races brought smiles and cheers the evening of Oct 3 at the MIDFLORIDA Event Center.
Oktoberfest has been held annually since 1996 at the event center, according to its website. It’s organized in collaboration with the German American Club of the Treasure Coast.
The DeLeon Band provided lively tunes, and there was dancing, bratwurst, schnitzel, pretzels, a display of Volkswagen cars from the Treasure Coast V-Dub Club, as well as marketplace vendors and contests ― such as the stein-holding contest.
A free kids’ area featured a corn maze, carnival swing, arts and crafts and a Rapunzel meet‑and‑greet.
Nonperishable canned goods were collected to support the Treasure Coast Food Bank.
