A Flash Flood Warning was in effect Wednesday night for Hillsborough County as storms moved through the region.
TAMPA, Fla. — Cars were stuck in Tampa floodwaters on Wednesday night as storms moved through the area.
At around 10 p.m., Hillsborough County deputies responded to North Manhattan Avenue and West Sligh Avenue. Photos from the scene show cars in the middle of the roadway as water accumulates. It came as a Flash Flood Warning was in effect for the county, as well as Pinellas.
The sheriff’s office reminded drivers to take precautions during heavy storms.
“Remember, six inches of moving water can knock you off your feet, and 12 inches can move a vehicle,” the sheriff’s office wrote. “When you see water over the road, turn around and find another route, and if you’re in danger, please call 911. Stay safe!”
