TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A group that’s helped install public art across Tallahassee for 20 years is concluding its mission.
The Knight Creative Communities Institute (KCCI) announced that this will be their last year. They’ve strived to create meaningful projects like the amphitheater at Cascades Park, the Good Things Grow Here mural, the TLH letters and so much more.
KCCI works with and through community catalyst partners who implement sense of place projects each year. Now, they’re looking to pass on their mission to others.
KCCI Executive Director Betsy Couch said she’s looking forward to sharing knowledge.
“As we look forward to celebrating our 20th anniversary, I’m excited to create the Catalyst Playbook, so that other locals, neighborhoods, and other cities can learn and build from our successes,” Couch said.
KCCI said the playbook will teach others how to turn empty spaces into destination places. They hope to have that playbook done by next spring.
