Village of Estero retained its AAA bond rating from S&P Global Ratings, the agency’s highest rating and a designation the village first received in 2024. Estero officials said the village is among 13 Florida municipalities with the rating, placing it in the top 4% statewide. S&P cited the village’s strong reserves, conservative financial management, policies and planning, and low fixed costs and liabilities. The assessment also accounts for Estero’s proposed debt issuance and ongoing capital needs while recognizing strong local incomes and a growing economy. A AAA rating indicates an issuer has an extremely strong capacity to meet its financial obligations and can help reduce borrowing costs.
