Lionel Messi’s farewell with the Argentina national team is now behind him. For the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner, it is time to switch his focus back to Inter Miami and the final stretch of the MLS season.
The Herons host DC United at Nu Stadium this Saturday, with the visitors still clinging to hopes of securing one of the playoff spots ahead of the postseason.
Inter Miami know that victory over DC United on Saturday would bring them closer to securing a playoff berth, meaning Kily González will need to field his strongest possible team.
That raises the question of whether Messi will be available to play against the Washington, D.C., side after traveling to Argentina, receiving an emotional tribute and returning to Miami.
Inter Miami’s predicted lineup against DC United
Apart from Yannick Bright, Santiago Morales and Facundo Mura, Cristian “Kily” Álvarez has his entire squad available, including his biggest stars, led by Lionel Messi.
Predicted Inter Miami XI: Dayne St. Clair; Gonzalo Luján, Micael, Maxi Falcón, Riquelme Fillipi, Sergio Reguilón; Rodrigo De Paul, Casemiro, Lionel Messi; Luis Suárez, Germán Berterame.
