TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – During Hurricane Isaias’s landfall, a fire sparked at a home after a tree fell onto it, according to the Tallahassee Fire Department.
The fire occurred at about 9:35 p.m. Friday on Cavalcade Trail in north Tallahassee. Downed power lines were near the home as smoke and flames burst through the roof when firefighters arrived.
The fire was located on the side of the home and firefighters used hoses to suppress the fire. TFD says “heavy rain and strong winds” made it difficult.
The fire’s cause is under investigation.
No injuries were reported, as the homeowner was outside when firefighters arrived and no one was found inside.
The American Red Cross was contacted for the displaced resident. The City of Tallahassee Utilities, Tallahassee Police Department, Bradfordville Volunteer Fire and Rescue and Leon County EMS assisted in response efforts.
