MASON, Ohio – The Miami University women’s tennis team continued play at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships on Friday and Saturday. Allie Faulkner and Maria Luisa Oliveira won all three of their doubles matches to advance to the quarterfinals, dropping just four games along the way.

Allie Faulkner and Maria Luisa Oliveira opened doubles play with an 8-1 win over Tennessee State on Friday, then followed with an 8-0 shutout of Northern Kentucky on Saturday morning. The duo closed out the day with an 8-3 win over East Tennessee State to reach the quarterfinals. Clara Owen and Nina Chavez also earned an 8-2 win over UT Chattanooga on Friday before falling to Cincinnati on Saturday.
Up Next: Faulkner and Oliveira will face No. 3 seed Williams/Dunac (Indiana) in the doubles quarterfinals on Sunday, Oct. 11, at 9 a.m., a rematch from the Hoosier Classic. In singles, Clara Owen, Evelyn Risner, and Nina Chavez remain alive in the round of 16.
