PUNTA GORDA, Fla. (WINK) — The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit is investigating a death reported Friday afternoon at the Centennial Park pool.
Deputies responded to the location Friday, but authorities have not released details about the circumstances surrounding the death.
In a statement to WINK News on Saturday, Sgt. Richard Kaufman Jr. confirmed that the investigation remains ongoing.
“This is an ongoing investigation still and the Major Crimes Unit is handling the case currently,” Kaufman said.
Kaufman also said there is no danger to anyone else and that additional information cannot be released at this time.
The sheriff’s office has not disclosed the identity of the deceased or the cause of death.
