Breeze Airways has officially launched its first flights from Dayton International Airport in Ohio, introducing nonstop service to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with advertised one-way fares starting at $49.
The new route began operating on Friday, October 9, 2026, marking the low-cost airline’s debut at Dayton and the beginning of a broader expansion that will add connections to Fort Myers and Raleigh-Durham in the coming weeks.
The new flights provide travelers in southwest Ohio with additional options for Florida beach holidays, winter escapes and visits to destinations in the southeastern United States.
Dayton–Fort Lauderdale Flights Begin October 9
According to Breeze Airways and JobsOhio, the new Dayton–Fort Lauderdale service operates twice weekly, on Mondays and Fridays.
The airline advertised introductory one-way fares starting at $49, although prices depend on travel dates, available inventory and booking conditions.
Fort Lauderdale provides access to beaches, coastal resorts and cruise departures from nearby Port Everglades, one of the busiest cruise ports in the United States.
The route may therefore appeal to passengers planning both traditional Florida vacations and cruise holidays departing from South Florida.
Breeze is positioning the service as a convenient alternative for travelers who would otherwise need to drive to another regional airport or connect through a larger airline hub.
Fort Myers and Raleigh-Durham Flights Coming Next
The Fort Lauderdale launch is the first stage of Breeze Airways’ new Dayton programme.
Nonstop flights between Dayton and Fort Myers, Florida, are scheduled to begin October 23, operating on Mondays and Fridays.
From November 6, Breeze will also introduce nonstop service between Dayton and Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, on the same two weekdays.
Another connection to Sarasota-Bradenton is scheduled to begin November 6 through the airline’s BreezeThru service.
Unlike the nonstop flights, the Sarasota-Bradenton option involves an intermediate stop but does not require passengers to change aircraft.
The distinction is important for travelers comparing journey times and booking convenience.

Dayton Becomes Another Ohio Airport Served by Breeze
Breeze Airways has been expanding its presence in Ohio, focusing on connections between regional airports and destinations that may have limited nonstop service from larger carriers.
The company says Dayton is its fourth Ohio airport, building on operations established in the state since 2021.
Breeze founder and CEO David Neeleman welcomed the new service, describing Fort Lauderdale as the beginning of the airline’s expansion in the Dayton market.
The airline’s business model focuses on connecting cities with routes that are underserved by traditional network airlines, often avoiding the need for travelers to connect through major hubs.
For Dayton residents, the new flights provide alternatives when planning Florida holidays and visits to friends and relatives in the southeastern United States.
What Travelers Should Know Before Booking
Passengers considering Breeze’s advertised introductory fares should check the final ticket price, including any charges for baggage, seat selection and other optional services.
The airline offers different fare packages, allowing customers to choose the amenities they require.
As the new routes operate only on selected weekdays, travelers should also review their return dates carefully, particularly when planning short trips or cruise departures.
The launch of Fort Lauderdale service on October 9 marks the first of four new travel options from Dayton, with additional connections scheduled through November 2026.
