LEE COUNTY, Fla. (WINK) — Lee County Solid Waste will resume its standard collection schedule, shifting trash, recycling and yard waste pickup times for some areas.

Residents of unincorporated Lee County, the Town of Fort Myers Beach, the Village of Estero, and the City of Bonita Springs are advised to set their materials out by 6:30 a.m. starting Monday, Oct. 26. This is an hour and a half later than the seasonal set-out time of 5 a.m.

The April-through-October seasonal change was designed to help contracted haulers’ drivers complete routes earlier in the day during hot months. The operational adjustment does not affect the day of the week residents have their materials collected.

In addition to Fort Myers Beach, Estero and Bonita Springs, the unincorporated areas affected include Captiva, Pine Island, Matlacha, North Fort Myers, Fort Myers Shores, Alva, Lehigh Acres, South Fort Myers and Iona.

Residents can download the Recycle Coach app to obtain their curbside collection schedule, sign up for alerts and learn how to properly dispose of different waste materials.
