GIBSONTON, Fla. (WWSB) – A 54-year-old Gibsonton man died after a crash early Oct. 10 at the intersection of Gibsonton Drive and U.S. 41, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened about 3:45 a.m.

FHP said Pablo Mendez-Leyva, 21, of Oregon, was driving a Ford pickup west on Gibsonton Drive when he entered the intersection against a red light. The pickup collided with a Cadillac Escalade traveling north on U.S. 41, troopers said.
