BOCA GRANDE, Fla. (WINK) — Boca Grande is known for its island charm, local shops and waterfront views. But for local businesses, getting people through the door is key to keeping the community thriving.

Keylime Bistro, located at 433 Fourth Street West in Boca Grande, is giving visitors another reason to make the trip to the island.

The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and seafood favorites, including grouper, but one of its best-known specialties is its signature key lime pie.

Owner Sandy Stilwell Youngquist said getting the pie just right took plenty of trial and error.

“It has to have good ingredients. Part it down the middle and check the texture and consistency. Our Key lime pie is well known for a reason, we had a lot of trial and error but we’ve got it down pat now,” Youngquist said.

Beyond the pie, the restaurant is known for its seafood and family-friendly atmosphere. Keylime Bistro is part of a family of restaurants, with Youngquist’s family members involved in the businesses, helping carry on the family’s restaurant tradition.

Keylime Bistro also has a connection to Boca Grande’s history. The restaurant is housed in the island’s former train station, with photographs and memorabilia inside showcasing the building’s past.

Its location puts visitors within walking distance of local shops and Whidden’s Marina, making it a convenient stop for those looking to explore more of the island.
