ORLANDO, Fla. – This week, you can step into a classic tale of romance and enchantment with the Orlando Ballet performing “The Sleeping Beauty.”
Presented by Jonathan and Krista Ledden, the production features live music from the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, under conductor Gabriel Gordon. Choreographer Christopher Stowell brings one of ballet’s most enduring love stories to life through Tchaikovsky’s beloved score.
“The Sleeping Beauty” is the timeless story of Princess Aurora. It begins with her christening, where fairies gather to bestow gifts of beauty, grace, and kindness upon the newborn princess.
The celebration takes a dark turn when a wicked fairy arrives and casts a curse that will one day send the princess into an enchanted sleep.

Years later, Prince Florimund sets out to find her and wakes her up with a kiss.
The show bridges generations of Orlando Ballet dancers with younger performers from Orlando Ballet School.
Ticket prices start at $39.
The show runs Oct. 15-18.
There will also be a special family-friendly performance on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 2 p.m.
It includes relaxed re-entry throughout the performance and pre-show activities like crafts, story time, an interactive dance class, face painting, and photo opportunities.
