ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol announced on Monday that it is now looking for a witness who may have video evidence after a deadly traffic crash in Orange County earlier this year.
According to troopers, the crash happened around 2:46 a.m. on Aug. 30 on Central Florida Parkway and International Drive.
“The witness is expected to have video of the driver fleeing the scene on foot after the fatal crash,” an FHP release reads.
WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR
After the incident was initially reported, troopers said that a suspect — identified as 19-year-old Christopher Laureda — ran a red light and hit another car. Laureda’s vehicle then flipped on its left side.

Meanwhile, the driver of the other car — identified only as a 29-year-old Connecticut man — died at the hospital, troopers noted. A woman who was with the man was hospitalized with serious injuries.
Troopers said that Laureda took off on foot while his three passengers remained at the scene, with all four having suffered minor injuries.
However, Laureda was ultimately caught by Orange County deputies, leading to his arrest. He faces charges of leaving the scene of a crash with death, and DUI manslaughter.
WHAT NOW?
Any witness with video evidence related to the incident is urged to contact the FHP at (407) 737-2300 and ask to speak with Corp. Arnaldo Lopez.
The case remains an active investigation.
