Tampa Bay’s live music weekend is here, and it includes Friday night’s show from Karol G.
The Colombian reggaeton artist born Carolina Giraldo Navarro was last in Tampa Bay four years ago, the Amalie Arena (now Benchmark International Arena) show had to be pushed a day early.
It ended up working out for the best, because the day after the show unfolded, Hurricane Ian-related evacuation orders were put into place in downtown Tampa. The 35-year-old has since won Album Of The Year at the Latin Grammy Awards, became the first Latina woman to headline Coachella, and was even immortalized as a Fortnite skin. Not to mention dancing for her old friend Bad Bunny during his Emmy Award-winning Super Bowl halftime show last February. In her Tampa Bay debut, Miami-bred Venezuelan singer Elena Rose opens Karol’s Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour.
