TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Leon County officials shared updates on additions coming to the Tower Road community.
Residents have long been asking for a family-friendly place for the community to enjoy.
Leon County has been working to make that happen and have already added a new playground and picnic tables.
Plans also include a basketball court and outside lighting for residents to have more hours to enjoy the area.
County Commissioner Rick Minor said it’s important for kids to have somewhere to play close to home.
“I know how important it is for neighbors in this area, especially to have a place where they can come to play basketball, to have their kids play on the play on the playground,” Minor said. “It’s something really important to be able to go to some place very close to home, with new lighting that you can use after the sun goes down, and that type of thing is an investment in our neighborhoods and community.”
The park is still open to the public while the new additions continue to be worked on and is expected to be completed later this year.
