Breeze Airways adds new routes from Burlington airport

  • October 14, 2026

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Breeze Airways is rolling out new destinations from the Leahy Burlington International Airport.

“We’re going to Myrtle Beach, North Carolina, with a ‘BreezeThru’ to Fort Lauderdale. BreezeThru essentially means you stay on that flight in Myrtle Beach and then you connect directly over to Fort Lauderdale,” said Nick Longo, the airport’s director of aviation.

These latest destinations are among the eight the airport says it added over the past three years.

Breeze Airways landed in Burlington on the heels of JetBlue’s departure in January 2024, ending that airline’s regular service to New York City.

Breeze is a budget airline focusing on point-to-point excursion travel, unlike the big full-service carriers like United, American and Delta.

The airport says the new flights are all about meeting Vermonters’ demands.

“We’re seeing 50 to 70 passengers daily from our market that want to take advantage of this Myrtle Beach flight,” said Jeff Bartley, the director of innovation and marketing at the Burlington International Airport.

Many Breeze flights are limited service, meaning they fly in and out just two days a week. Additionally, some destinations, like Houston, are seasonal.

The airport says the more travelers it sees, the more travel options will follow.

“Flying out of our airport will create more opportunities for increased services, nonstop destinations, new airlines,” Bartley said.

The airport says they are on track to beat last year’s record-breaking fall foliage season.

“Last year we broke 160,000 passengers in a single month. We are prepared to do that again, not just with passengers, but also our rental car industry,” Longo said.

And the airport is teasing a new international destination to be announced before the end of October, with one hint.

“It’s a good time to announce it. It’s a warm weather international destination,” Longo said.

The new flights from Burlington to Myrtle Beach and Fort Lauderdale will take off at the end of May next year.
