For South Florida travelers looking for a premium upgrade on their next flight, JetBlue is bringing its brand-new domestic first-class experience right to our backyard.

Dubbed “BlueFirst,” the new dedicated two-by-two cabin will officially take flight on December 8. Honoring its local roots, JetBlue has selected Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) as the destination for the service’s first-ever revenue flight.

The inaugural BlueFirst flight will connect Boston to Fort Lauderdale, a fitting milestone for the airline. Fort Lauderdale was JetBlue’s first-ever destination when the airline launched, and now it will serve as the first official destination for their newest premium cabin.

“We designed BlueFirst to deliver a more accessible first-class experience that combines the thoughtful hospitality and service customers expect from JetBlue with exceptional value and comfort,” said Joanna Geraghty, Chief Executive Officer of JetBlue.

What South Florida Flyers Can Expect Designed for the airline’s non-Mint-equipped fleet, the new cabin brings a fresh take to domestic first class. South Floridians flying out of FLL in BlueFirst will be treated to:

More Space: Custom seats featuring Tuft & Needle Flex foam, five inches of recline, and up to seven inches of additional legroom compared to Main cabin seats.

Upgraded Tech: A 13.3-inch seatback screen with Bluetooth connectivity.

Premium Dining: Sommelier-selected wines, specialty coffees, and “FirstFare” dining (an entrée, side, and dessert) on flights 899 miles or longer.

Priority Perks: Group 1 boarding, dedicated overhead bin space, and priority check-in/security access.

The Fort Lauderdale Rollout While the December 8 Boston-Fort Lauderdale route kicks things off, JetBlue is aggressively expanding the service out of FLL over the winter months.

Within days of the inaugural flight, BlueFirst will be available on flights between FLL and New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA). To celebrate the launch, JetBlue is currently offering limited introductory fares, including $249 one-way flights between FLL and LGA, and $299 one-way flights between FLL and Boston.
