Cali became JetBlue’s fourth destination in Colombia today with the launch of daily nonstop service between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Alfonso Bonilla Aragón International Airport. The route joins Cartagena, Medellín and Barranquilla, the latter launched on October 1.

The service is operated with Airbus A320 aircraft featuring the airline’s Main cabin and the EvenMore option, with more legroom. Flight 1535 departs Fort Lauderdale at 10:05 and arrives in Cali at 12:52, while flight 1540 takes off from Cali at 14:10 and lands in Florida at 19:00, local time. As a launch fare, JetBlue offers one-way tickets from USD 139 in Main and USD 239 in EvenMore, only on its website.

The daylight schedule sets it apart from Avianca, which has flown the same route every day since July 15 with a departure from Fort Lauderdale at 20:55 and a return from Cali at 1:30. The route was also part of Spirit Airlines’ network, which operated it daily at least until April, at an airport where JetBlue has been growing over international markets the low-cost carrier used to dominate.

JetBlue had announced its intention to fly to Cali in September 2025, with no start date, as part of a package of nine new destinations from Fort Lauderdale. According to the company, Latin America and the Caribbean account for about a third of its total capacity.

At Fort Lauderdale, its first destination and one of its focus cities, the airline has added 12 nonstop destinations since December 2025 and increased its daily departures by more than 75% year over year. In November it will add Columbus, Indianapolis and San Diego, and for this winter’s peak season it expects to exceed 150 daily departures, compared with the peak of 113 it had projected a year earlier.

“This new service gives customers more options to travel between Colombia and South Florida, and connect beyond Fort Lauderdale,” said Daniel Shurz, JetBlue’s senior vice president of revenue, network and enterprise planning, who framed the launch within the goal of “growing in markets where we see strong customer demand and opportunities to offer more options and competition.”
