There’s more to the music scene in the Bay Area than the same three chords or 15 cover tunes. If you like a combination of crafty songwriting and freewheeling jams, Noisemakers, 2616 Emerson Ave. South, St. Petersburg is the spot to land Saturday, November 14th, when North Pinellas quintet The Electric Sea and St. Pete quartet Earth Bombs Mars set their sights on an evening of musical colors both swirling and searing.

The Electric Sea formed in early 2023 when former Botomatics Bob Anthony, Fran Blacklin, and Bryan “Bo” Rosengarten joined with Portland-by-way-of-Asheville transplant Clayton Jones to mix their own large catalog of original material with covers bridging several limbs of the rock and roll tree, from glam to twang to pure pop. Underneath it all is a layer of instrumental exploration courtesy of a three-guitar lineup plus Blacklin’s arsenal of keyboards and percussion, dubbed “The Enterprise by the band. TTheir six-song EP “Loose Five” is available on all streaming sites and BandCamp, and they plan to record a full-length album this year. This show marks the debut of new bassist Paul Louis, who pulls double-duty with Sarasota roots band C. Knight and The Daze.

Earth Bombs Mars brings more than an amazing name to NoiseMakers: Featuring several members of the Bay Area jam scene, including Uncle John’s Band head Rich Whiteley, the group brings hooky and heady originals and unique spins on classic tunes to a devoted group of fans who never miss a chance to be “bombed” by this local institution, formed in 2002 and making a rare appearance on the 14th.

Showtime is 7:00 pm, admission is $10. Both bands will be playing two sets. For more information, see:
