Patchy to dense fog inland will burn off after sunrise
Friday forecast
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Today expect partly to mostly sunny skies, with west-southwest winds helping temperatures climb above average into the upper 80s. A few late evening showers or thunderstorms are possible in north-central Florida as daytime heating combines with the east coast sea breeze.
A cold front moves through tonight into Saturday morning, bringing much cooler, drier air and gusty north-northeast winds. A few showers may develop ahead of the front in Northeast Florida, with only light rain farther south.
Saturday highs will mostly reach the 70s, then Sunday highs range from the 60s in southeast Georgia to the lower 70s farther south. Gusts could reach 35–40 mph, especially near the coast, through Sunday night. Rough surf, dangerous rip currents, possible minor tidal flooding, and hazardous marine conditions are also expected.
