TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Finally, it is Friday. Another cool morning as you get the kids ready for school or you prepare for work. Expect another toasty afternoon once again today, before the weekend shocks your system.
Still hot today
This afternoon is the last stretch of hot weather. I am expecting a high around 90, which falls short of the record of 92 set back in 2015.
You will notice more clouds this afternoon as a cold front approaches North Florida and South Georgia. A stray shower south of I-10. If you have any outdoor plans, today is still looking great.
Cold front arrives tonight
Cloudy skies tonight and tomorrow morning as the front moves through. An isolated shower is possible overnight and early on Saturday. Temperatures drop, and winds pick up behind the front. Winds will gust between 25 and 30 mph on Saturday and Sunday. North winds will keep temperatures in the upper 60s Saturday afternoon and mid-70s Sunday.
Winds could lead to some power outages. Be sure your devices are charged throughout the weekend.
Beach and Boating
Wave heights have been trending a little lower in recent data. However, rough waters are still expected this weekend as winds get cranking.
Water temperature: 80
