CAPE CORAL, Fla. (WINK) — Grab your stein! It’s time for the German-American Social Club’s Oktoberfest.
There’s plenty of German food, live music, dancing and, of course, beer.
The Club is located at 2101 SW Pine Island Road and hosts two weekends of fun and festivities, with plenty of bratwurst, schnitzel, and German beer. WINK News anchor Taylor Petras caught up with Miss Oktoberfest at a recent WINK Listens.
“We bring in German bands straight from Germany. We also have local, really great bands, lots of wonderful food, drinks, activities for children as well. It’s a whole family affair,” said Christine Blasses, Miss Oktoberfest 2026.
Blasses, decked out in her dirndl, stopped by WINK Listens to share details about the celebration. The dirndl is a traditional German dress that holds special significance in German culture.
“You could get married in a Dirndl. People have, you know, first communions. It’s a very sacred dress to the German culture,” Blasses added.
The festival is about much more than what you wear or what’s in your stein. It’s about bringing people together through German traditions and culture.
“It’s our feeling of Gemütlichkeit, which is a word that describes well-being, welcoming, family, wholesome. Yes, that’s what Oktoberfest is all about for me,” explained Blasses.
Whether you’re there for the music, the food or a little friendly competition on the dance floor, there’s something for just about everyone. You don’t have to be German to join in.
“It’s bringing all cultures together for two weeks of fun. Everyone puts their differences aside, and we celebrate the culture, Florida, Cape Coral… It’s family, children, everyone, grandparents. Everyone gets to enjoy this,” Blasses said.
“Listen to great music, have some good food and laughter, and make friendships that last for a lifetime,” Blasses said.
Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. The 41st Annual Oktoberfest runs Oct 16–18 & 23–25, 2026.
