TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A Rickards High student was arrested Thursday after allegedly bringing an airsoft pistol onto campus, according to the Leon County Sheriff’s Office.
The 17-year-old was charged with possession of a dangerous weapon on school grounds, LCSO wrote in a press release Friday.
The incident transpired Thursday after a school resource deputy was notified that the 9th grader had a firearm on campus, per the sheriff’s office.
“A student alerted a school administrator after observing the firearm,” deputies said.
Shortly after, a school administrator identified the student and searched the teen’s backpack.
