JetBlue began daily nonstop flights between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and Alfonso Bonilla Aragón International Airport (CLO) in Cali, Colombia on 15 October 2026, according to Airways Magazine. The launch adds Cali to a Colombian network that has grown quickly in recent weeks.

Cali is now JetBlue’s fourth point in Colombia, joining Cartagena (CTG), Medellín (MDE) and Barranquilla (BAQ). Airways Magazine reports that JetBlue had launched its daily Fort Lauderdale to Barranquilla service on 1 October 2026, meaning the carrier added two Colombian cities to its network within a fortnight.

The route has been in planning for some time. JetBlue announced its intention to serve Cali in September 2025, though the start date and frequency were subject to confirmation and government operating authority at that point. A May 2026 expansion announcement set the 15 October daily launch.

What the Route Offers Passengers

JetBlue will operate the Fort Lauderdale to Cali route with Airbus A320 aircraft. The cabin configuration includes Main cabin seating and EvenMore extra-legroom seats. According to Airways Magazine, the onboard offering includes complimentary snacks and drinks, seatback entertainment and free Fly-Fi connectivity, though JetBlue qualifies that Wi-Fi and live television availability and coverage vary by aircraft.

Passengers travelling beyond Fort Lauderdale will have access to onward connections within JetBlue’s network at FLL, giving the route value both as a point-to-point service and as a feed into wider South Florida connectivity.

The Fort Lauderdale Strategy

The Cali launch is part of a broader push by JetBlue to concentrate capacity at Fort Lauderdale. Airways Magazine’s coverage of JetBlue’s second-quarter results detailed the airline’s focus on capacity growth at the airport, and the carrier expects more than 150 daily departures from FLL during peak winter travel periods.

Latin America and the Caribbean already account for approximately one-third of JetBlue’s overall capacity, according to Airways Magazine. The Cali route reinforces that weighting and extends the airline’s reach further into Colombia.

What JetBlue Said

Daniel Shurz, JetBlue’s senior vice president for revenue, network and enterprise planning, was quoted in the launch announcement. “This new service gives customers more options to travel between Colombia and South Florida, and connect beyond Fort Lauderdale,” he said.

The statement reflects JetBlue’s framing of the route as serving both the Colombia-to-South-Florida travel market and passengers looking to connect through FLL to other points on the network.

The Bottom Line

JetBlue has moved quickly in Colombia. Two new routes launched within 15 days, and the carrier now serves four cities in the country from Fort Lauderdale. The Cali launch is consistent with its stated strategy of concentrating growth at FLL and building out its Latin America and Caribbean capacity. Whether further Colombian points follow will be worth watching as the winter schedule develops.
