The Jacksonville Humane Society and Jacksonville’s Animal Care & Protective Services will hold a joint “Go Big. Go Home Together” large-dog adoption event Saturday, Oct. 17, and Sunday, Oct. 18. Adoption fees will be waived. The event is tied to the society’s recently launched campaign highlighting the joys of adopting a large dog. The campaign features a 30-second commercial and updates from adoptive families.
It will take place at the society, 8464 Beach Blvd., with dogs from the nonprofit shelter and the city shelter on site and available for adoption. Also, the city shelter at 2020 Forest St. will remain open throughout the weekend.
