A Mug-Nificent Time of the Year: Morean Members Show
Come enjoy the sipping sanctuary we all know and love – the handmade ceramic mug. Some mugs are flashy, some are intricate, some are simple, but they all are part of our rituals and traditions both shared and personal. Ceramic arts are all about slowing down and connecting to the little details that matter, and, at the time of the year, that is all about family, friends, and community.
Subtlety: Dani Lewis and Lily Denhoff
Subtlety is a group exhibition that explores work created during Dani Lewis and Lily Denhoff’s first year as artists in residence at the Morean Center for Clay. Working at the intersection of function and sculpture, Dani and Lily implement handbuilding techniques to create their own unique bodies of work. Dani’s voluminous organic forms exist in a synergistic contrast with Lily’s grounded geometric forms, creating a dialogue about scale, material, and subtle details.
