Wind Gusts will range 30-40mph Sunday afternoon.
ORLANDO, Fla. – A strong NE flow on the backside of a cold front will help to bring cooler, comfortable conditions across Central Florida while reeking havoc on the Atlantic waters.
Sunday
Winds increase a touch moving into Sunday as an area of low pressure forms to our north and east along the front that crossed over us yesterday. Winds will increase to sustained 20-25mph out of the NNE with gusts ranging 30-40mph. The highest gusts will be along the coast, including Daytona Beach for Biketober Fest. A few quick moving sprinkles are possible along the coast coming in off that stiff ocean flow. Highs will once again only reach the mid-upper 70s after starting off our Sunday morning in the 60s.
On the Water
Our strong winds are roughing up the surf considerably for Sunday and into Monday. A high rip current risk is in effect, as well as a gale warning and small craft advisory as gusts offshore will be 30-35kts producing waves 9-14ft. A high surf advisory has been issued as waves along the immediate shoreline will range 5-10ft. There is also a wind advisory for the coastline as well.
Next Week
Breezy and cooler conditions prevail for the entirety of next week as our lovely taste of fall has staying power. Low to mid 60s are expected each morning of the upcoming work week. Sunshine will be back in full force as highs reach the low 80s. Humidity will remain low and comfortable and rain chances are not expected after Sunday.
