Ft. Lauderdale City Commissioners voting on several ordinances tonight cracking down on the uptick in violence and underage drinking in the Himmarshee Entertainment District. Commissioner Steve Glassman says they’re committed to turning the situation around. A mass shooting outside Dicey Rileys in 2025 has led to some changes, like the banning of open containers and street alcohol sales. Other changes include increasing fines for alcohol-related violations and establishing new requirements for businesses opening late. Closing time is at 4 a.m.
