FORT PIERCE — What better place to host a haunted house than a theatre with a haunted history of its own? The 103-year-old Sunrise Theatre is opening its doors to “Once Upon A Nightmare,” its first-ever haunted house, Oct. 28-31.

Beware, as your favorite fairy tale characters come alive with a new, dark and deadly twist.

This haunted house experience is for mature audiences only. The bar will present some spooky and unique drink selections.

Doors opening and closing, rapidly draining batteries, items moving on their own, and the tale of the ever-glowing stage light are just some of the ghostly events that have been reported by various paranormal investigators.

“Once Upon A Nightmare” will run nightly from Oct. 28 to 31. This event will utilize timed entries, starting at 6 p.m., to maximize efficiency.

A one-time entry is $10. An all-night pass is $35, and you can walk through as often as you like.

Tickets may be purchased online at sunrisetheatre.com; by phone at (772) 461-4775 or at the box office window, open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Thursdays, and two hours before any performance.
