We usually keep things local here at Secret Miami, but Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights is spine-tingling fun we can’t simply ignore. The real nightmare, however, isn’t the haunted houses. It’s the exhaustion that comes with a four-hour drive back to the city.

But for one night on Saturday, October 24, Brightline will run a special “Midnight Train” for HHN-goers back to South Florida. You can basically get your scares in, skip the hotel expenses and sleep the whole ride home!

How the Midnight Train works

Presented in partnership with Orlando Health, the late-night train will depart Brightline’s Orlando Station at 12:15 a.m. on Sunday, October 25. It’ll make stops in West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Aventura and Miami.

Getting from the theme park to the station is usually the tricky part, but Brightline will also offer a complimentary one-way shuttle from the Universal CityWalk Bus Hub.

What to expect on board

The Halloween vibes won’t end once you leave Universal. Passengers will be treated to Halloween-themed offerings like a free spooky snack and sleep mask, while supplies last, encouraging getting some rest on the way down. If you need a little liquid courage after surviving the scare zones, they are also offering discounted drink specials on the carts and the Mary Mary Bar.

How to book

In order to ride the Midnight Train, head to the Brightline site or app and look at the schedule for Sunday, October 25. Find the Late-Night Train Icon at the 12:15 a.m. slot and be sure to act fast as it is a one-night-only run.
