Allison PetroORLANDO, Fla. —

A new Trader Joe’s store may be coming to Orlando’s East Colonial Drive, according to city permit records.

The City of Orlando received an application for a project at 3001 E. Colonial Drive to convert an existing building into a Trader Joe’s grocery store.

According to the permit description, the project includes interior renovations such as new partitions, fixtures, millwork, flooring, ceilings and lighting, along with mechanical, plumbing and electrical work.

The permit does not specify an opening date for the proposed store.

WESH 2 reached out to Trader Joe’s about the new location and another rumored site circulating on social media.

They confirmed three Trader Joe’s locations are set to open in Central Florida: one at 1444 N. Alafaya Trail near UCF, another in Kissimmee and a third in Maitland.
