ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. —
A man riding a motorcycle was killed after hitting a deer Wednesday night in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened just after 9 p.m. on Lake Pickett Road near Tanner Road.
Troopers said the 57-year-old man from Orlando was riding a 2016 Harley-Davidson Street Glide westbound on Lake Pickett Road ahead of a 2025 Tesla Model Y driven by a 53-year-old woman.
Troopers say as the motorcycle and Tesla approached Tanner Road, a deer crossed the road and the motorcyclist ran into it.
The impact threw the man from his bike, and then the Tesla ran over the rider, FHP says.
The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Tesla driver was not injured and stayed at the scene.
